Honor Rolls
1938-2010
Williams Bradley III, our first Eagle Scout with son, Billy and grandsons John and Sam
Bill Bradley was quite a Scout. Not only was he Troop 45's first Eagle, he also held
the Explorer Silver award, he was honored with a Silver Pelican, a Vigil Honor member and
Lodge Chief of Chilantakoba Lodge 397 Order of the Arrow (all firsts), and in later years
was awarded the Silver Beaver.
He loved the outdoors and was a Forestry counselor at Camp Salmen. He also made a trek to Philmont.
A very dedicated man, who loved his family, and will be missed.

* These two scouts were my age. On a trip to Washington DC, I wanted to honor them by visiting the Vietnam Wall and touch their names. Having trouble finding the names, the ranger printed out a list of all the honored names from Metairie, LA. There were ten names. Which means twenty percent of the war dead during the Vietnam War, from Metaire, came from Troop 45. ...Jim

Round about the council fire's light,
We have met in comradeship tonight.
Underneath the whispering trees.
Guard our golden memories.
And so before we close our eyes to sleep,
Let us pledge each other that we'll keep
Scouting memories strong and deep......
Till we meet again.
